The world's largest freestanding rock
The largest freestanding rock in the world is Ayers Rock, also known as Ayers Rock, or Ayers Boulder. It is located in the south of Australia, within a national park, 1,960 km from Alice Springs. In the past, it was climbed by many tourists every year, but in 2019 it was completely banned and the government issued a permanent ban on climbing, so now this freestanding rock can only be seen from afar, not up close.
Characteristics of Ayers Rock
The world's largest rock Ayers Rock is actually a huge rock, capable of reaching an overall length of 3,000 meters, an elevation of 863 meters, and a circumference of 9.4 kilometers. This rock reaches 348 meters from the ground, is higher and wider on the east and narrower on the west, and is the only freestanding rock in the world.
This rock is right in the center of Australia, so it is also called the heart of the Australian nation. This is the name given to this rock by some of the indigenous people living in the area, using the Aboriginal language, the main meaning of which is the meeting place, and the Westerners have given a name to this rock, named after the person who found it, Ayers Rock.
This rock is so popular that if you want to climb it, you can only do so at a vertical angle, and the rock is immense in size. After climbing this rock, you can see the surrounding and the things below are very small. The observation from the ground is only the tip of the iceberg, because there is a large area of rock hidden under the surface.
Here, there is a big temperature difference between morning and evening, but the sunset here is very beautiful because the whole evening sun is enveloping the rock, so it looks like a red land. The sunset sun is like burning from red to dark red, and getting darker and darker, and finally disappearing in the distance, with the naked eye to observe this process can be found in a variety of colors.
The reason for the formation of Ayers' Giant Rock
The formation of Ayers Rock is very mysterious, and so far, scientists are still unable to solve the mystery of it. In fact, there are two kinds of sayings about Ayers Rock, one belongs to the more scientific saying, because the movement of the earth's crust, so slowly formed this rock. There is also a legend, according to the stories told by the local people, it should be a meteorite thrown down by aliens, but I think this statement is really very unreliable.
