World's largest fireworks display
In the first minute, Dubai fired shells that broke the Guinness World Records record of 77,282 fireworks launched by Kuwait in November 2011 during an hour-long show celebrating the country's 50th constitutional anniversary.
Guinness World Records adjudicators completed a rigorous verification process, including an inventory of all fireworks, and have now confirmed the total number and firing, officially validating the extraordinary record-breaking achievement. Thousands of people were mesmerized by the dazzling colors.
Speaking about the new record, Guinness World Records adjudicator Talal Omar said: " This is an iconic record and I am delighted to confirm the challenge by Dubai and break the new Guinness World Record for an amazing scale that Dubai has achieved for the world's largest fireworks display. "The fireworks display was designed by Phil Grucci, and the fireworks were supplied by his New York-based company Grucci Productions.
It took up to thirteen months of planning and more than 5,000 man-hours to install for the show. It's a great honor and well deserved by the people of Dubai," he said. We are very proud that the show was completed safely and successfully.
